About the Journal
Aim
Podiatry is a peer-reviewed scientific journal dedicated exclusively to advancing knowledge, research, and clinical practice in the field of podiatry. The journal aims to provide a rigorous and up-to-date academic platform for the comprehensive study of the foot and ankle from clinical, scientific, technological, and social perspectives.
Our primary mission is to foster critical thinking, therapeutic innovation, and clinical excellence in podiatric medicine through the publication of original research, systematic reviews, and clinically relevant experiences. We place special emphasis on the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of foot and ankle conditions, while also addressing ethical, organizational, and educational challenges facing the profession in diverse care settings.
Scope
Podiatry welcomes scholarly and clinical contributions in all areas of relevance to the podiatric field, including but not limited to:

Biomechanics and Orthopodiatry. Functional analysis of the foot and ankle, gait studies, prescription and evaluation of foot orthoses and therapeutic footwear.

Pediatric Podiatry. Structural and functional disorders in children’s feet, motor development, and preventive approaches in early life.

Podiatric Surgery. Surgical techniques, clinical outcomes, indications, and innovations in minimally invasive foot surgery.

Dermatologic and Vascular Podiatry. Management of skin conditions, nail disorders, ulcers, microvascular complications, and diabetic foot care.

Sports Podiatry. Prevention and treatment of sport-related injuries, biomechanical assessment in athletes, and functional rehabilitation.

Geriatric Podiatry. Comprehensive care for older adults, including frailty, falls, structural changes, and chronic disease management.

Technology and Innovation. Application of emerging technologies such as advanced imaging, 3D printing, pressure sensors, artificial intelligence, and digital podiatry tools.

The journal follows an open access model, which maximizes the visibility of published articles.
Frequency of publication:
The journal follows a continuous publication model, where articles after acceptance are typeset and published in a single volume per year. Therefore, the call for submissions is permanently open.
Speed of publication:
The journal manages the following times of the editorial process: 5 days for the first response from the section editor or pass to peer review; 30 to 45 days responses from the editor on the observations of peer reviewers; 5 to 7 days in layout, metadata uploading and publication on the journal's site.
The editorial team combines rigorous peer review with the efficient timing of the editorial process, which is done exclusively in electronic format.
Promotion and dissemination strategy:
The journal develops a strategy to promote and position published articles on social networks and web platforms, which contributes to increase exposure and access to the articles.
